The God Between a Woman's Thighs - PART ONE: ENTRY
Publisher:
Author(s): Richard L. Cabra

This passionately intense, exquisitely written and painfully honest confession follows our intrepid adventurer and virtuoso swordsman, Richard L. Cabra, as he navigates his way between the sheets - and the thighs - of beautiful young women in Central Asia, the Ukraine and South America in search of consummate love, a love to redeem his life and transform his soul, a love that will bring him the opportunity to comprehend the truth of our existence in the world and to glimpse the very face of God.

Inside the Book:

PART ONE: ENTRY

Prologue

In which our intrepid adventurer and virtuoso swordsman is introduced to us by an individual of dubious character and even more problematic credentials.

Chapter 1

In which our bold pioneer elects to exercise his very rusty skills in the art of seduction; Ginnie is mesmerized and induced to suck Dickie; and our hero engages in idle meditations on the unexpected benefits of a musical education and daydreams of a chimera, a well-mannered lady guest.

Chapter 2

Wherein our splendid daredevil stumbles into a stray encounter and receives a most remarkable proposition from an attractive young woman bathing in a tub; our metaphysician muses on the penetration of money into the most intimate of social connections and extols individual freedom of choice.

Chapter 3

In which our valiant swashbuckler reminisces about the evening which started innocuously with a solitary glass of wine at an outdoor cafe and ended, after several impetuous twists in the tale, with a couple of senior prosecutors begging for a favor at the personal brothel of the President of the Republic. Reflections on abstemiousness and the nature of a true epicure.

Chapter 4

In which our hero appears not as the hunter but as the quarry. An unexpected opportunity to revisit and act out an adolescent sexual fantasy. Sometimes we get what we long ago wished for but have in the meantime forgotten about. Meditations on the role of the imagination and fantasy. And a hommage to the Marquis de Sade.

Chapter 5

In which our romantic gadabout at last encounters a woman of beauty, spirit, taste and astonishing allure. He is enchanted and discovers to their mutual amazement that he arouses in her a fiery sensuality. The road is rocky, however, and our hero suffers bitter frustrations. Reflections on some most peculiar emotional contradictions and why Russian women adore the movie "Pretty Woman".

Chapter 6

In which Titi eventually yields to our resolute swordsman, but only after a long, arduous and grueling struggle, gratifying his basest lusts at the same time as pampering his vanity, afterwards rudely punctured by bitter recriminations. A surprising revelation and a long-dormant beast awakened. But was it ... (gasp!) ... date-rape? Did our hero actually force his attentions on the tempting but reluctant maiden?

Tune in for our next breathtaking, jaw-dropping episode.

To be continued .....

What the Critics Say

Not since the Confessions of Jean-Jacques Rousseau has a man so fearlessly bared his soul, his distinguishing idiosyncrasies, and his every vulnerability to the implacable and relentless gaze of ruthless self-scrutiny. The author, Richard L. Cabra, is sure to endure the most excruciating vilification on publication of this saga, which recounts ? in graphic detail - his numerous and intense libidinous liaisons, if only because the intimate adventures themselves, and the ruminations the author engages in thereupon, do not merely run counter to, but appear designed to outrage every tender sentiment and cherished conviction of the politically-correct brigade. This is a man who celebrates, nay revels in his manliness and knows what to do with a woman, while embarking on a quest harbored by every secret romantic: to discover the source and savor of true love. ...

From Channel Row to Cabra: Dominican Nuns and Their Times, 1717-1820
Publisher: Columba Press
Author(s): Maire Kealy

This is the story of a group of Dominican women who came to Dublin from Galway in 1717, set up a new foundation with a boarding school for girls and a retirement home for ladies. This is the framework within which the author sets out the difficulties, hardships, and successes of Mary Bellew and her community. Mary herself and her companions were from the Anglo-Irish landed gentry whose families were able to keep their lands after the debacle of James II's disastrous defeat at the Boyne. The nuns lived in the era of the Penal Laws when they were liable to harassment from the authorities, the worry of financial ruin, falling numbers of boarders and community members. However, they survived to move on to Clontarf and Cabra; by 1819 only five nuns survived. From that remnant in the nineteenth century off-shoots have sprung up in South Africa, Australia, New Zealand, Louisiana and teh Cabra convent and Congregation have survived all these vicissitudes.

     Cabra: Webster's Timeline History, 1503 - 2007
Publisher: ICON Group International, Inc.
Author(s): Icon Group International

Webster's bibliographic and event-based timelines are comprehensive in scope, covering virtually all topics, geographic locations and people. They do so from a linguistic point of view, and in the case of this book, the focus is on "Cabra," including when used in literature (e.g. all authors that might have Cabra in their name). As such, this book represents the largest compilation of timeline events associated with Cabra when it is used in proper noun form. Webster's timelines cover bibliographic citations, patented inventions, as well as non-conventional and alternative meanings which capture ambiguities in usage. These furthermore cover all parts of speech (possessive, institutional usage, geographic usage) and contexts, including pop culture, the arts, social sciences (linguistics, history, geography, economics, sociology, political science), business, computer science, literature, law, medicine, psychology, mathematics, chemistry, physics, biology and other physical sciences. This "data dump" results in a comprehensive set of entries for a bibliographic and/or event-based timeline on the proper name Cabra, since editorial decisions to include or exclude events is purely a linguistic process. The resulting entries are used under license or with permission, used under "fair use" conditions, used in agreement with the original authors, or are in the public domain.

     Cabra (Poetry)
Publisher: Red Deer Press
Author(s): Ian Samuels

Over the space of centuries, the exploration and settlement of Brazil inspired a vast body of stories that sought to define the country. Its people, its landscapes and its history became the focus of an intense gaze that transmuted the image of Brazil into a fantasy landscape, a changeling world of mingled beauty and brutality, by turns quaint, hallucinatory and nightmarish. Cabra is an exploration of the imagination of Brazil and its the fever-dream. It is a mapping of the topography of myth itself, a search for the voice of history in the cracks of the colonial faade. Perhaps most of all, it is a search for the voices of the dispossessed, whose very identity is the tortured space of the middle passage, the in-between.

Reviews

"Cabra challenges readers to ponder Samuel's views on Brazil as creation of the imagination that helps us to discover ourselves."
-Canadian Book Review Annual
