Stereoscopic 3D Photos

Description: A couple of 3D photos my friend and me made two weeks ago. I hope you enjoy them. Shot on a 1000D w/ kit lens and a 50mm 1.8. We used the IndisliderMini for adjusting the interaxial distance and a calculatur for finding the correct distance. Color Correction and convergence adjustment done in Photoshop and partly in StereoPhotoMaker.

Good close up lens for stereo 3D - focal lengths and interaxials

Description: This clip shows different lenses and interaxials. I assume we have a chip size of 12.7mm by 7.2mm. I am shooting for a 12m screen with the audience sitting at 9m and they have a divergence tolerance of 0.5� pro eye.You may be shooting for an LG Optimus 3D or an HTC EVO 3D, in which case this wont apply. In the first shot the camera has a field of view (fov) of 60� and an interaxial of 18mm. The lenses always converge on the doctor's eyes. In the first shot he is at 50cm, the max positive distance is at 80cm. That means the nurse is already out of the Comfort Zone. The other 2 shots try to remedy this. A fov of 40� (approx 7mm S35 equivalent) helps us stage CUs and 2 shots a little further the camera, giving us more dstance to the max positive parallax. In the American shot the distance to the max positive parallax is 15 meters. In the close up the max positive parallax is 125cm from the camer, but, importantly, the nurse is inside it. This kind of staffel, and more importantly over the shoulder shots, should be made possible without having to resort to multi-rig shots.
