Brittany Chikyra Barber (formally known as Brittany Barber born on April 3, 1987) is an American singer, songwriter, and record producer from Los Angeles, CA. She is currently unsigned to a label. She is most notable for her work on Terrace Martin's Album Locke High 2. Brittany Barber co-wrote and sang on such songs as "Ready", "Lithium", "LA DREAMIN", " Sing for me" interlude, and various other tracks on the album. Brittany Barber has also written songs with many other artists such as Carl Thomas, Uncle Chucc, Problem, Kenyon Dixon, and Terrace Martin.
Early life and career beginnings
Brittany Barber was born and raised in Compton, CA and graduated from Paramount High School in Paramount, Ca. She has two younger brothers. Her mother and father allowed her to sing in the church choir and she was active in her high school show choir and drama club. Brittany eventually began to perform and sing at local nightclubs and venues in the Los Angeles area such the Comedy Union, the Conga Room, and at R&B Live.
Brittany Barber was introduced to Terrace Martin in 2011 and began working with him on his studio album Locke High 2. A mutual partnership formed allowing the two to collaborate and lead to multiple placements for the independent artist on Terrace's album. It was released in October 2011. Brittany was also introduced to Carl Thomas while performing at Jamie Foxx's "FoxxHole Live" at the legendary Conga Room in Los Angeles CA. She was able to write and work with Carl Thomas on his upcoming album, singing background vocals as well.
