Program Design With Pseudocode (Computer Program Language)
Publisher: Brooks/Cole Pub Co
Author(s): Therold E. Bailey, Kris Lundgaard

This text stresses logical thinking and program design independently of a particular computer language. The authors present methods of structured problem-solving and modular logic so that students can become conversant with these skills before learning syntax and programming code in a specific language. Various design tools, such as flow charts, IPO diagrams, and hierarchy charts, enhance explanations and compare different problem-solving techniques. In this edition, the authors have included more material on data types, Loop Whiles and reports generated with page numbers and control breaks. Chapter 7 now covers a wide range of topics such as data and programme correctness, and programme testing using modular concepts. Containing numerous exercises, this text exposes students to a variety of programming constructs through the use of pseudocode and encourages logical thinking by emphasizing problem-solving skills within the context of programming. This book should be of interest to students taking introductory computer courses in any programming language.

This easily accessible guide provides you with the tools you need to:

  • Create programs and divide them into subprograms
  • Develop variables and use constants
  • Manipulate strings and convert them into numbers
  • Use an array as storage space
  • Reuse and rewrite code
  • Isolate data
  • Create a user interface
  • Write programs for the Internet
  • Utilize JavaScript and Java Applets

In addition to these essential building blocks, this guide features a companion CD-ROM containing Liberty BASIC compiler and code in several languages. It also provides valuable programming resources and lets you in on cool careers for programmers.      Foundations of Algorithms using C++ Pseudocode
Publisher: Jones And Bartlett Publishers
Author(s): Richard Neapolitan

Foundations of Algorithms Using C++ Pseudocode, Third Edition offers a well-balanced presentation on designing algorithms, complexity analysis of algorithms, and computational complexity. The volume is accessible to mainstream computer science students who have a background in college algebra and discrete structures. To support their approach, the authors present mathematical concepts using standard English and a simpler notation than is found in most texts. A review of essential mathematical concepts is presented in three appendices. The authors also reinforce the explanations with numerous concrete examples to help students grasp theoretical concepts.

     Pseudocode
Publisher: VSD
Author(s): Ronald Cohn Jesse Russell

High Quality Content by WIKIPEDIA articles! In computer science and numerical computation, pseudocode is a compact and informal high-level description of the operating principle of a computer program or other algorithm. It uses the structural conventions of a programming language, but is intended for human reading rather than machine reading. Pseudocode typically omits details that are not essential for human understanding of the algorithm, such as variable declarations, system-specific code and some subroutines. The programming language is augmented with natural language descriptions details, where convenient, or with compact mathematical notation. The purpose of using pseudocode is that it is easier for persons to understand than conventional programming language code, and that it is an efficient and environment-independent description of the key principles of an algorithm. It is commonly used in textbooks and scientific publications that are documenting various algorithms, and also in planning of computer program development, for sketching out the structure of the program before the actual coding takes place. This book was created using print-on-demand technology.

A Web-Based Introduction to Programming: Essential Algorithms, Syntax, and Control Structures Using PHP and XHTML
Publisher: Carolina Academic Press
Author(s): Mike O'Kane

A Web-Based Introduction to Programming is designed for use in introductory programming, programming logic and design, or Web programming courses, and for anyone seeking a painless way to learn the basics of programming by developing small Web applications. The book is clearly written, using consistent examples in every chapter and step-by-step descriptions of standard programming procedures. Each chapter follows precise learning outcomes that are accurately tested by the end-of-chapter quizzes and exercises. A Web-Based Introduction to Programming keeps the focus on the need for beginning programmers to learn essential syntax and control structures with minimal complexity. Each chapter focuses on a single topic and related material is provided in appendices. Students learn to convert requirements into algorithms, and then develop small Web-based applications using a combination of PHP and HTML. All required software is provided and can be installed quickly and easily in minutes under Windows, Macintosh OS X or Linux. The software can be installed entirely on a USB drive so that students can carry their entire work environment with them (no need for special classroom installation). Significant changes to the second edition include: the latest version of the standalone Web server; even more code examples; additional code exercises for each chapter; flow chart examples to help explain control structures; more in-depth coverage of associative arrays and Web sessions; more extensive discussion of include files; additional references to emerging technologies.

PERFORMANCE EVALUATION OF PSEUDO-CODE IN MULTI-USER ENVIRONMENT: Analysis of PN CODE in Spread Spectrum Communication Systems
Publisher: VDM Verlag Dr. Mller
Author(s): Afsana Ahamed

This book basically deals with the pseudo codes used in spread spectrum communication system. This includes the various types of pn codes and their techniques, benefits and shortcomings and as well as their properties. It has been seen that the length of the code, autocorrelation and cross correlation properties can be used to determine the best suitable code for any particular communication environment. Therefore, the code with suitable autocorrelation properties along with low cross correlation values was tried to find out. It was assumed only the bipolar case. At first, the best codes in 31 bit codewords which have the best auto-correlation properties were discovered. Then the work was concentrate on Walsh-Hadamard code. The Walsh-Hadamard code has the best cross correlation properties but it lacks self-synchronization feature. It was also tried to find out those codes in 64 Walsh-Hadamard codes which have best auto correlation properties. Finally the barker codes were analyzed. The barker code has good auto- correlation properties and the pair with the low cross correlation was discovered so that they can be used in multi-user CDMA environment.
